The Canal du Centre runs between Digoin and Chalon sur Saône with 69 miles and 61 locks of beautiful countryside and picturesque villages.

An hour's bike ride to Chagny on a Sunday and you will find yourself in the hustle and bustle of Chagny market, on route you will pass the restaurant L'Escales, Remigny (tel 03.85.87.07.03) which is well worth a visit but remember to reserve as this restaurant is often fully booked.   

In the oposite direction not far from the centre of Saint Leger sur Dheune is Péché Sucre where you will find a range of homemade jams and jellies, wine, mustard and other regional products.  The shop is set up in what was originally the Perrusson tile factory and has retained its wonderful tile ceiling and glazed ceramic decorations on the exterior of the building.   In the center of Saint Leger with a relaxing water front terrasse the Restaurant Le Marchand (tel 03.85.45.46.80) offers a menu with a variety of flavors and originality.

The commune of Santenay has long been known for its Fontaine Salée (Salt Fountain), which got its name from the high sodium chloride content of the water.  From 1816 onwards, an increasing number of visitors came to Santenay for treatment.

A new thermal establishment "ValVital" will open in May 2021 offering a wide range of spa facilities and treatments.

For Pizza lovers, why not take a bike ride to visit the medieval town of Nolay (9km via cycle route) and pass the afternoon at Les Piments du Lac enjoy a refreshing drink, pizza and a refreshing swim in the lake.
